Safe Disposal Information

  • Do not dispose of the battery in household waste.
    Li-ion NMC batteries must not be thrown into general domestic. They contain metals and electrolyte that require controlled handling.
  • Follow local regulations for lithium-ion battery recycling.
    Use certified collection points or licensed recycling facilities as required by EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 and local environmental laws.
  • Do not incinerate, crush, or open the battery pack.
    Thermal runaway, fire or toxic gas release may occur if the battery is mechanically damaged or exposed to fire.
  • In case of damaged or swollen batteries, handle as hazardous waste.
    Store in a non-flammable container (e.g., sand or vermiculite), isolate from combustible materials, and contact an authorized hazardous-waste processor.
  • Transportation for disposal must comply with UN3480 / UN38.3 requirements.
    Damaged batteries must follow ADR “Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods” rules.
  • Prevent short circuits during disposal or transport.
    Cover terminals, isolate battery using non-conductive packaging, and avoid contact with metal objects.
  • Do not discharge fully before disposal.
    Industrial Li-ion batteries should be shipped at 20–40% SOC where possible, per transport safety guidelines.
