Powered by a vision to be one step ahead in the future of mobility, Karsan offers modern public transport solutions and organizes roadshow events across Europe with its new 100% electric city bus e-ATA that come in lengths of 10, 12 and 18 meters. Karsan is the first and only brand in Europe to offer 100% electric vehicles, sized from 6 to 18 meters, with the launching of its e-ATA line-up in September. Three 12-meter long e-ATAs are being inspected and tested by private and public mass transport companies in different cities across Romania, France and Italy. e-ATA’s roadshow events started in October and attracted great interest, ending in Romania while still continuing in cities across France and Italy. The eco-friendly e-ATA, Karsan’s largest family of buses in its electric range, continued its promotional tour in the Romanian cities of Jimbolia, Brăila, Sibiu, Bucharest, Slobozia, Sfântu Gheorghe, Bacău and Buzău starting with the Gala Tranzit event in Cluj. Karsan achieved Turkey’s largest export of electric buses by winning the tender opened by the Romanian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration for 100% electric public transport vehicles. The Romania tour included Timișoara, where 44 e-ATAs will be delivered, Braşov, where 12 e-ATAs will be delivered, and Slatina, where 10 e-ATAs will be delivered. The 12-meter e-ATA in France, on the other hand, will continue its roadshow in Luxembourg and France after promotional activities in Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine. e-ATA’s journey to Italy starts with the ASSTRA National Conference in Rome.

The new zero-emission, high-range e-ATA electric buses from Karsan, which is helping to shape public transport in cities across many countries with its range of commercial vehicles, went on a roadshow tour as part of its European promotional activities. With the events in the cities of Romania, France and Italy, the new Karsan e-ATA will be introduced to private and public bus operators, to be inspected and tested. The 12-meter e-ATA’s roadshow, which received great attention at every venue, started its Romania tour in October with the Gala Tranzit event in the city of Cluj. The tour continued in the cities of Jimbolia, Brăila, Sibiu, Bucharest, Slobozia, Sfântu Gheorghe, Bacău and Buzău. In the Slatina leg of the roadshow, the Mayor of Slatina, Emil Mot, presented e-ATA and explained the agreement made with Karsan in detail. The municipality of Slatina will start receiving Karsan’s e-ATA electric buses from December onwards. The municipality will have a total of 10 Karsan electric buses, including charging stations.

The 12-meter e-ATA in France, on the other hand, will continue its roadshow in Luxembourg and France after its  tour in Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine. e-ATA’s journey to Italy starts with the ASSTRA National Conference in Rome.

e-ATA runs for a full day on a single charge

Versatile and flexible, e-ATA comes with seven different battery packs ranging from 150 kWh to 600 kWh, and in three different sizes of 10, 12 and 18 meters, depending on the need. While its maximum battery capacity is 300 kWh for 10 meters and 450 kWh for 12 meters, it can go up to 600 kWh for its 18-meter class. e-ATA’s wheel-mounted electric hub motors deliver 250 kW of peak power and 22,000 Nm of torque in its 10 and 12 meter-long versions, enabling them to climb the steepest of slopes effortlessly. The maximum power of 500 kW in the 18 meter-long version shows the highest performance even at full load. Thanks to its powerful batteries, the e-ATA 12-meter model offers the possibility of driving up to 450 kilometers on a single charge when the vehicle is full, on a real bus route and with the air conditioning running in the heat of the summer. With a charging power of up to 150 kW with a wired connection, e-ATA can be charged in 1 to 4 hours, depending on the preferred battery pack.

This means the vehicle can be operated all day without a second charge. In addition to wired charging, e-ATA also offers a high-capacity fast-charging option that allows drivers to recharge at stops without getting out of the vehicle.

Standing out with its futuristic design, e-ATA offers passengers a full low-floor interior that promises unobstructed freedom of movement. The e-ATA model offers flexibility in terms of capacity as well as size and electric motor options. Despite its high range, e-ATA does not compromise on passenger capacity. Depending on the preferred battery capacity, e-ATA can carry 79 passengers with its 10 meter configuration, over 89 with its 12 meter configuration, and over 135 with its 18 meter configuration.
