Karsan to deliver 56 Diesel-Powered Atak Buses 
to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality!

Recently, Karsan won the tender for 56 medium-size buses, opened by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in order to expand its current fleet and replace vehicles that are no longer road-worthy.

 

Karsan, which will deliver 56 diesel Atak buses to Mersin under the awarded contract, plans to make the deliveries to the Metropolitan Municipality by April 2022. Ersan Topçuoğlu, the Head of Transportation Department of the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu, Karsan’s Domestic Market Sales and Overseas Relations Deputy General, and Adem Ali Metin, Karsan’s Sales Manager, attended the signing ceremony held after the tendering process. Commenting on the news, Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu said, “Mersin is the latest addition to our portfolio of cities benefiting from our high-performance and comfortable public transport vehicles with low operating costs and latest technologies. We are pleased to continue our operations with our delivery of the diesel Atak buses, following the delivery of 63 12-meter CNG-powered Citymood and 10 18-meter CNG-powered Citymood buses to Mersin in the first half of 2021. Replacing the older buses that have reached the end of their service life, our buses will help increase passenger comfort, provide fuel savings, and improve the performance of the current fleet of the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality.”

Karsan has finally won the Mersin Municipality's tender for the acquisition of medium-sized buses to replace its fleet of aging buses. Placing the best bid and offering the best buses for the tendering, Karsan signed an agreement with the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality for the delivery of 56 8-meter diesel-powered Atak buses. 

 

 

The Atak buses offered as part of the tender are to be delivered to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality by April 2022. 30 of the Karsan Atak units will be put to service in the center of Tarsus while the remaining 26 will be used in the other districts. Diesel-Powered Karsan Atak is user, passenger, and environment friendly!

 

With a sportive front design with its sharp eye lamps, curved front overhang, and LED daytime running lamps placed in “L” shaped sockets, the new Atak reduces servicing costs thanks to its front bumper consisting of three parts, and focuses on maximum efficiency by offering easy and rapid servicing response. The grill details on the back and the vertical LED lamps positioned on a shiny black area complete the elegant appearance. The Karsan Atak also offers improvements focused on operational profitability. The Atak’s design makes it easier to response to the car from a single point, enabling serviceability and allowing the vehicle to quickly continue on its way. Generating 186 HP power and 680 Nm torque, the 4,5-liter FPT NEF4 turbo diesel engine of the new Atak continues to deliver excellent performance.

Maximum comfort for all!

 

The Atak’s interior, on the other hand, offers a multitude of technological and ergonomic innovations both for passengers and drivers. Launched with electrically-heated side mirrors, Atak boasts a new sportive steering wheel design, user-friendly button layout and driver’s seat that can be moved to six directions all in the isolated and ergonomic driver’s cab which complies to the VDV (German Transporters Association) standards. Making life easier for passengers with its kneeling feature, wheelchair ramp, USB ports and WiFi hardware, the new Atak raises the standards for comfortable trips in its refreshed passenger seats.
