Karsan offers modern public transport solutions that meet the mobility needs of the times, and its product range continues to be a model for world city transport. Finally, Karsan participated in the International Forum Mintrans “Municipal Infrastructure: Urban development and comfort” which was held in Kharkiv, Ukraine, with the aim to discuss ways of improving transport infrastructure, and signed a Memorandum for Cooperation with Kharkiv City Council. Karsan will contribute to modernizing the transport infrastructure of Kharkiv city with its expertise and range of modern buses, and be a key partner in investment projects for the public transport vehicles. Sharing his thoughts after the signing, Secretary of Kharkiv City Council Igor Terekhov stated that 150 vehicles with a length of 6 and 8 metres would be bought within this year and the city has the intention  to cooporate  with Karsan for fulfilling these goals. Karsan’s CEO Okan Baş issued a statement, saying: "We are glad about the Memorandum that we signed with the Municipality of Kharkiv and the contributions we can make to the city. In this context, an agreement was made for the delivery of 150 Jest and Atak vehicles from July until October with our Ukrainian business partner MDG Company.” 


Karsan participated in the International Forum Mintrans “Municipal Infrastructure: Urban development and comfort” which was held in Kharkiv, Ukraine on April,8 2021, with the presentation of Atak Electric, Atak and Jest models. Within the international forum, which was devoted to municipal infrastructure, urban development and citizen comfort, Karsan signed the Memorandum for cooperation to support the infrastructural improvement efforts of Kharkiv Municipality. Due to the Memorandum for cooperation, Karsan is intending to play the main role in improving the transport infrastructure of Kharkiv with its product range of innovative buses to be incorporated into the city's transport network. After the signing of the Memorandum the Secretary of Kharkiv City Council, Igor Terekhov made a statement, stressing their preference for fuel-saving vehicles that are ideal for use during both rush and normal hours which meet European emission standards. 

As Mr.Terekhov stated, “The goal is to have 500 new vehicles for the city of Kharkiv, 150 vehicles with a length of 6 and  8 metres to be purchased in 2021, and our intention is that Karsan, the factory that I have visited personally, will play an important role in urban transport modernization of Kharkiv and we have discussed the plans with the asisstance of investors to have the production localization of Karsan in Kharkiv. 


Commenting on the developments, Okan Baş, CEO of Karsan, expressed his pleasure to be in the city of Kharkiv and to sign a Memorandum for Cooperation with the Municipality, saying, "Karsan's vision for the future is an inspiration for many developed and developing cities in Europe with its product range. We continue to be recognized with our innovative and technological range of products that meet transport requirements. We are also pleased to contribute to the transport infrastructure of Kharkiv city. We believe that our 6-metre Jest and 8-metre Atak vehicles, will make an optimal contribution to the city's instantly changing traffic conditions with their excellent performance and fuel-saving engines. In this context, an agreement was made for the delivery of 150 Jest and Atak buses from July until October with our Ukrainian business partner MDG. In the future, depending on the potential in the Ukrainian market, we will be evaluating to invest in a production facility in Kharkiv, Ukraine.”
