KARSAN WINS BUSİAD DOĞAN ERSÖZ AWARD!
Producing modern public transportation vehicles in line with the mobility requirements of the age in its Bursa factory, Karsan won the 2018 Doğan Ersöz Award as part of the 25th BUSİAD Awards this year. Karsan was deemed worthy of this award thanks to its prototype success in the USA, capability to produce electric public transportation vehicles and its environmentally sensitive technologies and also gained appreciation for its cooperation with ILO to support equality between men and women in professional life.
The Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Bursa (BUSİAD) organized the Doğan Ersöz Business Person of the Year and BUSİAD Achievement Award Ceremony to encourage industrialists and reward individuals and organizations that are engaged in beneficial activities in education, culture and professional areas. Leaving behind a half century after its foundation, Karsan, Turkey's domestic commercial vehicle manufacturer, won the 2018 Doğan Ersöz Award as part of the 25th awards ceremony held this year. Karsan was deemed worthy of this award thanks to its prototype success in the USA, capability to produce electric public transportation vehicles and its environmentally sensitive technologies and also gained appreciation for its cooperation with ILO to improve gender equality and increase the employment of women in professional life.
Karsan crowns its achievements with awards!
Speaking at the ceremony, Karsan CEO Mr. Okan Baş emphasized that Karsan has produced over 300 thousand commercial vehicles throughout its 50-year history and achieved significant success in exports. "We were born in Bursa but we have never remained static," Mr. Baş said. "Our innovative products that respond to the needs of cities, our environment-friendly structure, closely following the latest trends in technology as well as our strategic collaborations have carried us, I mean Karsan, a 100% Turkish brand, to a significant level towards becoming a global player. Our many achievements, such as strategic partnership with IIA in Europe, our cooperation with BMW and being ranked among the top five as a Turkish brand in the USPS, the American Postal Procurement, are some of the successes of Bursa-based Karsan in recent years. We are proud to be crowning these achievements with the 2018 Doğan Ersöz Award. Accordingly, I, on behalf of myself and the whole Karsan family, sincerely thank the Board of Directors of the Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Bursa for giving us this very special and meaningful award and I would like to take this opportunity to remember Doğan Ersöz with respect and gratitude once again," Mr. Baş stated.
