Karsan Eliminates Carbon Emissions from Electricity!
Pioneering the transformation of public transportation to electric and autonomous vehicles worldwide, Karsan has begun using renewable energy sources at its production facilities in Bursa. Under the collaboration with Enerjisa, Karsan has obtained a Renewable Energy Certificate Procurement Document, thus ensuring that 100% of the electricity used in production is sourced from renewable energy. This transition, which highlights the company's vision for environmentally conscious production and commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, was commented on by Karsan CEO Okan Baş: “Turning to renewable sources should be a priority for all of us. With this awareness, we have taken a significant step towards our goal of becoming a carbon-neutral factory by 2030. By sourcing all the electricity used in production from renewable energy sources, we are eliminating the carbon emissions from electricity consumption during production.”As of today, Karsan provides transportation services with more than 1,100 electric vehicles in 23 countries worldwide. With the transition to renewable energy, the company has also made a significant step towards its goal of a sustainable future in its production facilities.
Karsan continues to lead the reduction of the industry's carbon footprint with its electric and hydrogen-powered models, playing a pioneering role in the global transformation of public transportation to electric and autonomous vehicles. With its sustainability efforts, the company has been using 100% renewable energy sources at three different locations in its Bursa factory since April 2024, rapidly progressing towards its 2030 Carbon Neutral factory goals.
Reducing the Carbon Footprint!
Through its collaboration with Enerjisa within the scope of "Energy for My Business," Karsan has taken a significant step by obtaining a Renewable Energy Certificate Procurement Document. With this collaboration, Karsan will source 100% of the electricity used in production from renewable energy sources, thereby eliminating carbon emissions from electricity consumption during production. Karsan, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint with its electric vehicles, provides transportation services with more than 1,100 electric vehicles in 23 countries as of today. The 100% electric Karsan e-JEST and e-ATAK have been the most preferred models in their segments in Europe for the last four consecutive years. With its high-tech and environmentally friendly models contributing to sustainability, Karsan has taken another step towards the sustainable future it aims for in its production facilities with the transition to renewable energy.
